MÁRMOLES SERRAT extracts high-quality pulpis gray from the quarry in Santa Magdalena del Pulpis and transports it to its own plant for processing. Obviously, logistics plays a key role in its day-to-day operations, and the efficiency of the machinery used is crucial.
Currently, the company already uses several TOYOTA forklifts from the rental fleet of COMERCIAL ORBEL. These forklifts are perfectly capable of moving marble blocks weighing up to 3,000 kg without any problems.

COMERCIAL ORBEL accompanied MARMOLES SERRAT throughout the process of discovering the optimal solution for their problem. Among the project requirements was that the solution had to be reliable and robust, without being overly expensive. The option of using a rebuilt KALMAR machine was proposed, as it met all the criteria.
The purchasing team at COMERCIAL ORBEL conducted a thorough examination of a 25,000 kg Diesel DCD250-12 Kalmar machine abroad to ensure its quality was optimal for the project. After passing the quality test with flying colors, the transportation of the forklift to Spain was arranged, where it was rebuilt and fine-tuned.
Finally, the Kalmar forklift was assembled at MARMOLES SERRAT’s base, where two mechanical specialists from COMERCIAL ORBEL installed the forklift mast.
Subsequently, the company’s personnel responsible for handling the machine were trained in its use.
Thanks to its mechanical robustness and low consumption, the DCD250-12 is the perfect tool for handling heavy marble blocks. Additionally, this forklift serves as a differentiating and prestigious factor, as it is one of the largest forklifts in the entire province.
